About Us

Southwest Houston 2000, Inc. was created in 1991 to serve Southwest area of Houston. SWH2000 is a 501c3, non-profit, IRS tax-exempt, community improvement coalition of homeowner & civic clubs, private schools, financial institutions, churches, synagogues, apartment complexes, businesses and non-profit organizations.

SWH2000's 35 Board of Directors and advisers are composed and governed by the representatives from these (above) diverse groups as well as by officials from the Houston City Council, Harris County, Houston Independent School District, Brays Oaks Management District, Houston Community College and the Houston Police Department.

The corporation was organized exclusively for charitable, benevolent, social, scientific and educational purposes. Since its formation, SWH2000 has focused on improving the quality of life and the amenities for all who live and work in our community. Our commitment is to promote a more secure, livable environment where residents can raise children in a peaceful, aesthetically, attractive neighborhood; where businesses can prosper and schools and institutions can better serve the whole community.
